Kerteminde On Funen
Kerteminde is a lovely small town on the Northeastern side of the island of Funen. It has been a favourite location for a number of Danish artists because of the light in Kerteminde.
This is the main street in Kerteminde. It is unusually wide, but the houses are very typical Danish small houses.
This beautiful half-timbered house is a bit further South on the main street.
Kerteminde Church is a typical Danish red brick church.
This old business sign is just off the main street in Kerteminde. If offers as diverse goods as soap, rush shoes, sugar candy, dried cod, tops and cork pistols.
The Kerteminde Harbour still shows signs of the previous business activities, but today it is primarily a leisure area. On the right or South side of the picture you find an excellent fish restaurant.
Kerteminde Beach is very popular and is visited by people from all over Funen. Note the red-white lifeguard tower.
On a small hill in Northern Kerteminde you find this beautiful Dutch style windmill from 1853 which is still in perfect working order.
